Aspen Viewing 2003
After we had done our standard local aspen viewing on the road to Mt Evans, our friends Bill and Karen took a 2 day trip to the Western Slope (in the area of Grand Junction/Aspen/Glenwood Springs ie Western CO) and found the aspen colors to be "as spectacular as they had ever seen". They insisted that we repeat their trip...which we did on Monday and Tuesday Sept 29,30.
Vail

Grand Mesa...South of Grand Junction on the Western Slope

Panorama of the North side of the Grand Mesa (Scroll Sideways to see it all)
It has been a little over-compressed to keep the file size reasonable

A little golf in Cedaredge with our friends, the DeNios $19 for 9 holes...not bad

Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Those cliffs are 2700 feet...straight down

That's the Gunnison River in the bottom of the canyon, with Sylvia tempting fate.

McClure Pass, ~60 miles south of Glenwood Springs. I don't think Vermont can improve much on this...
